Monuments Museums
Gardens & Natural Parks Fiestas Nightlife
Golf Flamenco

The origins of the dance form of Flamenco are still disputed, but one thing is undisputed- it is today one of the most enduring images of Andalucia and an a famous symbol of Spain.
Flamenco belongs to the whole of Andalucia, but in Seville it is more evident in the public life and on the cultural agenda of the city. There are flamenco clubs, and flamenco shows are arranged in various places all over the city.
During festivals like the April Fair, flamenco is out on the streets in its full livery, with almost all the women dressed in colourful flamenco costumes, and dancing on the streets. Tourists in Seville can enjoy daily performances of this art form in all of its splendour in well known flamenco tablaos (venues for flamenco), direct inheritors of the ancient cafes, the neighborhood penas (flamenco club enthusiasts) or village festivals.
Seville is considered as the world capital of flamenco, and two major and famous flamenco festivals are held in the city regularly: The Bienal de Flamenco and the Feria Mundial del Flamenco. The bienal de flamenco is held every two years- and the next festival is scheduled in 2008. Its the greatest showcase from where the best and the latest trends in flamenco are offered. Seville, Andalusia and Spain are converted into the world epicenter of flamenco. The Bienal begins in September and lasts until the beginning of October.
